Hello everyone!

Welcome to this week's edition of Rebuild Tuesday, a weekly event we're doing along with our Discord!

Since Sword/Shield just recently came out and brought many changes to the metagame, we'll be looking at the newer Pokemon and how they are in the currently developing meta in the next several weeks.

This week's Pokemon is Pincurchin!

#871 Pincurchin (Japanese バチンウニ Bachinuni)

Sea Urchin Pokémon

It feeds on seaweed, using its teeth to scrape it off rocks. Electric current flows from the tips of its spines. It stores electricity in each spine. Even if one gets broken off, it still continues to emit electricity for at least three hours.

Pincurchin's Base Stats:

HP: 48
Attack: 101
Defense: 95
Sp. Attack: 91
Sp. Defense: 85
Speed: 15

Introduction:

In theory, Pincurchin is a good Pokemon. Has Electric Surge, can set up hazards, can cripple Pokemon with Scald burns and Memento, priority with Sucker Punch, and decent stats to go with it besides its abysmal speed and HP. Unfortunately, those two stats really hold it back; using Earthquake on this thing with anyone who can leave somewhat of a chunk will basically secure an OHKO with no chance to retaliate. Therefore, you need to be smart with how you use Pincurchin, and send it out at the opportune time.

How viable do you trainers think Pincurchin is? Is there anything else you think it needs in order to be a good competitive Pokemon (e.g. new moves, stats, abilities or typings)? What is its most optimal set?
