Hello everyone!

Welcome to this week's edition of Rebuild Tuesday, a weekly event we're doing along with our Discord!

Since Sword/Shield just recently came out and brought many changes to the metagame, we'll be looking at the newer Pokemon and how they are in the currently developing meta in the next several weeks.

This week's Pokemon is Morpeko!

#877 Morpeko (Japanese モルペコ Morpeko)

Two-Sided Pokémon

As it eats the seeds stored up in its pocket-like pouches, this Pokémon is not just satisfying its constant hunger. It's also generating electricity. It carries electrically roasted seeds with it as if they're precious treasures. No matter how much it eats, it always gets hungry again in short order.

Morpeko's Base Stats:

HP: 58
Attack: 95
Defense: 58
Sp. Attack: 70
Sp. Defense: 58
Speed: 97

Introduction:

Marnie's signature Pokemon, Morpeko, is more than meets the eye. Its signature move, Aura Wheel, has base 110 power, and is Electric or Dark type depending on the form Morpeko is in. Said form changes every turn. The move also increases its speed, which is already decent as is. It has a passable base attack stat with a surprisingly diverse set of moves at its disposal such as Parting Shot and Rapid Spin. Unfortunately, it is one of the worst defensive Pokemon ever, with 58 base HP and defenses, and considering its typing, it's going to get OHKO'd pretty easily. Furthermore, it has no way of increasing its attack stat, so its damage output will be mediocre no matter what. It's still somehow better than most of its other Pikachu counterparts, so hey, there's that.

How viable do you trainers think Morpeko is? Is there anything else you think it needs in order to be a good competitive Pokemon (e.g. new moves, stats, abilities or typings)? What is its most optimal set?
