| What was Hoenn like before RSE/ORAS? Posted: 18 Apr 2020 12:26 AM PDT I'm trying to imagine what the Hoenn Region was like 30 years before the events of the game took place. Here are my ideas and tell me what you guys think. Littleroot and Oldale Town No big changes except that there might be a different professor before Birch. Petalburg City There will be a different gym leader since Norman and his family hasn't moved to Hoenn yet. I'm thinking he/she might be a Grass type gym leader or someone from the Elite 4. Rustboro City The city might be smaller since according to the Cutter's daughter they had to clear up trees to expand the city. I'm thinking of a similar theme to Sinnoh's Oreburgh. Pretty Petal Flower Shop on Route 104 was the OG house of the Berry Master. Devon Corporation was a just small mining business during this time. Rusturf tunnel has not been built yet so people had to hike to get to the other side. Rustboro Gym is led by a different Rock type gym leader. Thanks for the reminder /u/Heater123YT Dewford Town May not have a Gym yet. Based on the games the town was pretty small they don't even have a Pokemart. I think old Dewford was a quiet fishing town before Brawly set up his gym there. Slateport City I think Slateport was already and established city by this time. They may have had a Steel type gym as homage to their ship building industry this gym would later be converted into the Slateport Contest Hall/Battle Tent. Mr. Briney might have been originally from Slateport and has a connnection with the history of the Abandoned Ship. He had a Pelipper along with other pokemon aboard the ship which he lost because of a maritime accident. He was left with a lone egg which later hatched into Peeko his Wingull. Credits to u/not_a_doctor_ssh and u/takemeoutofLA I originally placed Drake as Slateport's gym leader but decided that he could have a sidequest with the protagonist and Mr. Briney. It is said in Drake's self introduction that he "dedicate [him]self to the Pokémon that saved [him]" so this sidequest would likely include the appearance of a Dragon type legendary. Either Rayquaza or Latios/Latias. (I need more ideas on this one.) Mauville City A younger Watson leads the Mauville City gym. The gym might be located underground, the future site of New Mauville. Cycling Road and Route 110 haven't been constructed yet and a ferry (or HM Surf) was needed to move between Slateport and Mauville. Credits to /u/winefox Verdanturf Town No big changes. Day Care couple were much younger and energetic. Idea from /u/winefox Fallarbor Town Idea from /u/northbynortheast31 Fallarbor was a busier town as is served as a resting spot from people hiking from Rustboro to central Hoenn due to Verdanturf tunnel not being built yet. Fallarbor Town may have had a Dragon Type Gym in the past which was later converted into the Fallarbor Contest Hall/Battle Tent. Aster, the lore keeper before Zinnia would be the Gym Leader. Credits to u/KeimaSilver Lavaridge Town Is led by Flannery's grandpa which would be Kabu. I He is also a fire type gym leader and he came from Hoenn. I bet likes hot springs a lot. Credits to /u/Otomegurin for this idea. There will be no cable car system to get you to the top of Mt. Chimney. You would need to hike your way up the Jagged pass. Thanks for the idea u/SiriusTurtle Fortree City Is basically the same but they have yet to have their own gym. They probably used Tropius as a means of transportation and this lead them to having a Flying type gym. Also, Feebas were not rare. Feebas can be easily caught in Route 119. Carvanha were introduced later on and became invasive species causing in the decline of Feebas populations Lilycove City I imagine that Lilycove is the location of the original Water type gym led by Juan. The gym was later converted into the Contest Hall and a new water type gym was opened in Sootopolis. Mossdeep City. Everything is the same except no space center. The gym leaders might be the old couple in Mt. Pyre a.k.a Tate and Liza's grandparents. It may be a psychic or ghost type gym with the same double battle format. Also, I feel like Wailmer should not be catchable using Super Rod, it just doesn't make sense. Instead, they could be encountered by surfing in routes 124 and 125 since Mossdeep is known for Wailmer watching. Sootopolis City Same except no gym yet. Wallace may have been inspired by Juan to set up a gym in his hometown. The reason i thought of this is because Sootopolis seems like a sacred place for Pokemon so it seemed to be reserved for something bigger. Pacifidlog Town No changes. Except i feel like this should be the only place we can catch Corsola and only by diving underwater. Ever Grande City No changes. There is also a different villain team where both Archie and Maxie are members (probably admins even). [link] [comments] |
| The Solution To HMs and Retaining Dungeon Exploration Methods Posted: 18 Apr 2020 02:38 AM PDT Simple solution. If the Pokemon can learn an HM, let it use it as a field move, even if it isn't actually one of its 4 moves. This lets you use pokemon that are in your team (not like Pokeride), while still pressuring you to have certain kinds of pokemon. For example, say you need to cross a large body of water. You have a vaporeon on your team that does not have Surf learned, but it has the potential to learn surf via HM. That potential to learn the move allows vaporeon to use it as a field move, even if it isn't a move it can use in battle. Problem solved. I'm surprised GF hasn't already gone this route yet. Are we to assume that tobias lost to elite four or cynthia managed to win against tobias. Like are we to pretend that every league winner has failed to challenge the elite four or the champion. The great stories, the fun battle system, the perfectly animated sprites and three dimensional diverse battlefields.. Not to mention the beast shiny rayquaza in the game! Playing as a warlord is super fun. Playing as many with intricate backstories, amazing. We really should acknowledge just how great of a DS game it was! And the Ponigiri? Makes me want to try pokemon rice balls too! Also? The map is shaped like arceus! Thought that was pretty cool :> [link] [comments] |

He has a very wide move pool and if you use him right, you can sweep teams with him. There are many options to choose from. If you have the time, feel free to tell me what your favorite is and why. | Posted: 18 Apr 2020 06:59 AM PDT Remember the distortion world from gen 4? And how it has made very select appearances? What if there was a whole Pokemon game set in the Distortion world? My best guess is that the pokemon would essentially be demon versions of the pokemon we already have. As Giratina is the Satan to Arceus. It's the literal opposite of the normal world so it would make sense for there to be something(?) You could still have regular functions like pokemon center, shop, gym as we know that there are buildings around. I won't try to explain how this whole thing will work or how to storyboard it. I do feel like It might be best to not have some things present (not like functionally but as in you're battling a trainer but there's no one there) as well as to revive the look and feel of the gen that this area appeared in. This is obviously going to be more of a subtle horror element too. [link] [comments] |

It keeps disconnecting me, and on his end it says I'm not nearby. Is there some way to fix this, or is the functionality not in Home? | So I had an Idea for a new kind of challenge run Posted: 18 Apr 2020 08:28 AM PDT So I've been working on this new challenge run of Pokémon, the rules are: -You can only catch a new Pokémon after getting a gym badge -Your new Pokémon has to be one you could not have encountered before your gym battle -Battle style is on Set -You can pass on Pokémon to grind shinies or genders, but if you catch the Pokémon you cannot replace it (one exception) so you cannot farm for natures -You cannot trade Pokémon with in game NPCs or with other players unless it's to evolve a Pokémon, in which case it must be traded back immediately after evolution -You cannot accept gift Pokémon or Eggs -The one exception is for instances requiring you to have multiple Pokémon, you can use a Pokémon that does not adhere to the previous rules, but it cannot attack in battle and must be released as soon as possible Those are the rules and it's pretty fun so far, any suggestions for rules or names for the challenge? I was thinking for extra challenge you have to have which Pokémon you encounter randomly generated, i.e. assigning each new mon a number and then using a RNG to decide which one you have to catch. | I think I've pieced together how the other regions relate to each other Posted: 18 Apr 2020 12:10 PM PDT So, I've looked up what areas each region is based on, and made a list of connections the region's would have with each other if they were a reflection of the real world. Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh and Hoenn: All part of one archipelago. Unova: Part of a larger region that was a colony of Galar, but this section wasn't part of the region at the time. Kalos: Neighbors of Galar that was their enemy in the past, helped the region Unova's a part of secede from Galar Alola: Most recent addition to the region Unova is part of Galar: Neighbor and past enemy of Kalos, former owner of the region Unova and Alola are part of (although I've said that several times already) There may be a couple of holes in this, so keep in mind that this is purely theoretical and shouldn't be accepted as fact until we see more interaction between regions. Also I thought it was hilarious when the machine part rocket grunt hid himself between the couple in HGSS. I had totally forgotten there was no move remember-er in crystal when I was a kid so I wish there was one then. Also I forgot about the nugget bridge people, were these people all in team rocket in the gen 1 games? Overall it was a trip down memory lane playing both of these games, I can't get enough. | Pokemon Sword - Trade for Lotad/Grookey Posted: 18 Apr 2020 11:19 AM PDT Trying to get Knock Off on Ferrothorn in Sword. It could be any Lotad/Grookey. I don't care about IV's, nature, gender, etc. I have a five perfect IV but bad nature Rotom I'd be willing to part with. I've only had my Switch less than a week and just beat the game yesterday so I do not have many spicy mons, but if you have Shield and want something exclusive to Sword (other than legendaries) I'd be happy to work that out too. Posted: 18 Apr 2020 09:12 AM PDT So I'm using an emulator that only saves with save states, every time I boot up the game it says "new game" and not "continue" I just beat the elite four and I'm kinda worried that I can't go back into the game without going back before I beat the elite four. Do you have to wait for a certain amount of time like in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald? Or am I stuck? [link] [comments] |

I've loved each game but B&W felt like a let down X & Y was good fun but I couldn't even finish Sun. The pokedex cuts don't bother me as I feel the series needed it desperatly (seriously though no Cyndiquill?). The games have been feeling way too easy, removing pretty much all puzzles from the over world and Sun was so linear and rigid. I love pokemon but I don't want to buy another game like Sun that just feels so stiff and dull [link] [comments] |
