Hello everyone!

Welcome to this week's edition of Rebuild Tuesday, a weekly event we're doing along with our Discord!

Since Sword/Shield just recently came out and brought many changes to the metagame, we'll be looking at the newer Pokemon and how they are in the currently developing meta in the next several weeks.

This week's Pokemon is Orbeetle!

#826 Orbeetle (Japanese イオルブ Eolb)

Seven Spot Pokémon

It's famous for its high level of intelligence, and the large size of its brain is proof that it also possesses immense psychic power. It emits psychic energy to observe and study what's around it—and what's around it can include things over six miles away.

Orbeetle's Base Stats:

HP: 60
Attack: 45
Defense: 110
Sp. Attack: 80
Sp. Defense: 120
Speed: 90

Introduction:

Orbeetle is a really cool Pokemon. This Pokemon is the prime example of what Ledian should have been. Orbeetle has a great status move kit, being able to set up hazards via Sticky Web, put Pokemon to sleep via Hypnosis, and recover reliably via Recover. Interestingly, Orbeetle has some decent defensive stats and speed. However, its overall bulk is lackluster due to its 60 base HP and plethora of weaknesses; with Rock, Fire and Dark being very prevalent offensively in the meta, Orbeetle's survivability isn't that great. In addition, any fast Taunt users can immediately shut down Orbeetle, making it difficult to use because the bulk of Orbeetle's purpose revolves around using its status moves.

How viable do you trainers think Orbeetle is? Is there anything else you think it needs in order to be a good competitive Pokemon (e.g. new moves, stats, abilities or typings)? What is its most optimal set?
