[Rebuild Tuesday] SwSh Meta Predictions: Polteageist!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to this week's edition of Rebuild Tuesday, a weekly event we're doing along with our Discord!

Since Sword/Shield just recently came out and brought many changes to the metagame, we'll be looking at the newer Pokemon and how they are in the currently developing meta in the next several weeks.

This week's Pokemon is Polteageist!

#855 Polteageist (Japanese ポットデス Potdeath)

Black Tea Pokémon

Trainers Polteageist trusts will be allowed to experience its distinctive flavor and aroma firsthand by sampling just a tiny bit of its tea. When angered, it launches tea from its body at the offender's mouth. The tea causes strong chills if swallowed.

Polteageist's Base Stats:

HP: 60
Attack: 65
Defense: 65
Sp. Attack: 134
Sp. Defense: 114
Speed: 70

Introduction:

What's the Polteageist, sis? Apparently, each generation introduces a new Shell Smash demon that's ripe and ready to show everyone in the tier how to sweep. Gen 5's Shell Smash baby was Cloyster, then Tough Claws Barbaracle came, followed by Minior who basically already has Shell Smash as an ability. This gen, we get Polteageist. With Shell Smash, its already sky-high special attack goes even further beyond, and aside from Blastoise, its speed as a Shell Smasher is good. It also gets access to Stored Power, which does tremendous damage thanks to Shell Smash. Unfortunately, it is still rather slow at 70 base speed, and its physical bulk is poor. As a pure Ghost-type, that isn't good against Knock Off-happy users. Furthermore, its movepool is rather shallow, as it won't be able to do much against Pokemon such as Bisharp or Hydreigon. Overall, Polteageist is certainly deadly, but cannot deal with particularly important matchups at all.

How viable do you trainers think Polteageist is? Is there anything else you think it needs in order to be a good competitive Pokemon (e.g. new moves, stats, abilities or typings)? What is its most optimal set?
