Do you guys take pokemon natures and EV/IV spreads seriously, when starting a playthrough? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 02:52 AM PDT Non competitive of course. Does it really matter? Do you wait till you catch numerous gibles until you get a Jolly nature one and wait till you get a Timid Gastly? I'm not sure. I'd prefer to get the best out of mons even if it's just a casual play through. I guess IV/EV spreads will obviously be harder as you'd need to breed so maybe ignore that bit, lol. Let me know. What are your favorite "punny" nicknames for your Pokemon? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 08:00 AM PDT What are some pretty clever, punny nicknames you have used during playthroughs? Here are some of my favorites I've had or come across:

Why Gen 6 is my favorite generation Posted: 10 Jul 2021 05:37 AM PDT I am just a huge fan of gen 6 Pokémon. With Sword and Shield flopping with bad graphics and animations, slashed Dex and a horrid battle mechanic, I find myself drawn to this more and more as time goes on. Gameplay: What can I say about the gameplay? It's Pokémon. You walk around, get into fights that seem to happen when your entire team is on life support and put of healing items and work on getting all 8 badges to fight the league. But there are additions. Mega Evolution shatters the regular sedate battles. By giving a stone to certain species of Pokémon, you boost them for one battle with better stats. If you think this is broken, then here's a shock. You can only mega evolve one Pokémon per battle. If your current mega faints or you switch to a different one, you can't mega any other Pokémon to keep it balanced. This works suprisingly well to keep the battles exciting. Better Exp. Share: The Exp. Share in past games sucked. A hard to get item that you give to one Pokémon and they get the Exp. It's bad. For example, here is the level spread on my Heartgold playthrough. Mostly level 20 or so Pokémon with my Slugma being at low 10s. My Mareep (now a Flaafy) and Togepi were left in the Daycare to gain levels before I got to Goldenrod. Now my X nuzlocke team. Mostly near level 60 with the only low level being my Gogoat at 30. No Daycare needed due to the whole team getting experience. If I wanted to switch train, I'd turn it off because it is now a key item. Much better than Sword and Shield's whole team Exp. gain. Animations and Visuals: I'm not gonna say that there are perfect animations in this game. There are effects that are used rather than motion. But the animations and visuals are much cleaner. And this is on the 3DS, a much less powerful console than the Switch. There are moments when the game goes from a top-down view to a fixed, isometric view to take in the spectical, such as Route 7 after the Day Care being able to see the lake and Battle Maison. There are flaws in animations though. Skarmory, due to the new Sky Battles, just hovers. But in other cases, such as Charizard, look more imposing. And some look more accurate to their Dex entry. Take Spoink for instance. If it stops bouncing, it dies. In all games prior, it was static, possibly dead. But now it's constantly bouncing, alive and energetic. Story: The story of this game is awesome. It builds upon the lore with an ancient superweapon that ended a war. It's more heavy and dark. Team Flare is the last evil team that has threatened the way of life for everyone. It's emotional, making the player more connected. Affection: This is a big new part of the game. By playing with your Pokémon, you form a bond with them. This bond makes battles much more fun. Pokémon-Amie is super fun with great minigames including a hidden one that is hard to get working. When you max out Affection, your Pokémon looks back at you, making you feel pride. And a lot of buffs get added, such as status curing, better crits and evasion and the chance to live on 1 hp. ORAS: The gen 3 remakes are amazing. The base game looked pretty enough on the GBA, having reflections, ripples and footprints, but the 3DS cranks it to the MAX. With the day/night system in place now, some things, like the pond on route 117, can look downright gorgeous. Mega evolution fits in amazingly and the new forms for Groudon and Kyogre are amazing. And the new Megas are awesome as well. New characters are great, such as Zinnia. And the lore is built upon more and more in this. Overall, this generation is amazing. It is astounding at how much was fit on the 3DS. You should play one of these games because my words alone can't tell you how great this is. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jul 2021 09:30 AM PDT Like previously stated, it's your first day as a Pokémon trainer and for whatever reason, you were late. Maybe you overslept and your alarm never went off. Regardless, you end up being late and most of the available Pokémon were already taken. All fire and water starters are taken, as well as two grass starters. All that is left are these 6 grass type starters for you to choose from. Who are you choosing as your starter? Chikorita and Grookey have already been chosen, so that is why they aren't options to choose from (realistically, I could only have 6 poll options). [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jul 2021 10:42 PM PDT I just bought two pro controllers, and I'm sad that I can't use them. Lets Go may have a gimmicky catch system, but they are fun games. Definitely one of the best of recent gens. These games will be remembered for a long time in my opinion. Probably as long as Heart Gold, and Soul Silver. Things they have that other games don't: - Following everywhere. And not just unique following, but unique animations for most of them. - An amazing challenge system for becoming a master of certain Pokemon species. - Mega Evolutions. It's the only game other than Mystery Dungeon that brought back megas in this generation. - The Safari Zone lets you bring in Pokemon from Pokemon Go. You can catch them in real life, and then play with them on a classic Kanto adventure. -Pikachu and Eevee are so cute. We get to see Yellow essentially remade, and this time Eevee is an option. It's just so cute and great. - Fighting Red, Green, and Blue in one game. - The game is actually in 1080p, and if you pair it with an mclassic accessory, it's even more perfect. - Easier way to catch most shinies. - NO MORE HMS. - Being able to ride on certain Pokemon that you catch. Not just rentals. - SKIPPABLE CUTSCENES. Makes replaying fun. I took advantage of this challenge my self on all Pikachu line Pokemon runs, and other fun challenging team set ups. - The PC box is so convenient. - Beautiful graphics. - JESSE, JAMES, AND MEOWTH. THAT MEOWTH. - The cute cinematics. Starting a cinematic is just so much fun and cute. I love when your Pokemon greets you for the first time. And so much more. >o< I just fell in love with this game. [link] [comments]
Do you hope for a new game, or a remake? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 09:08 AM PDT For Mystery Dungeon, that is. Honestly, Explorers of Sky is my favorite game (love it's story and that it expands on time/darkness), but I don't need a remake unless Grovyle gets to stay in the present with us. I really like how Super Mystery Dungeon expanded the world when we traveled and we had characters who grew up with friends and parental figures. I do hope the next M.D. game tells us more about the character's past, as I always found it weird that pokemon knew what humans were, but you never saw any. [link] [comments]
Which Pokémon plushies do you own and which is your favorite? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 09:29 AM PDT Which Pokémon plushies do you guys own and which is your favorite and why? I'm really curious lol. I have Chimchar, Ampharos, Vileplume, Ditto Muk, and a Dusk Ball. Also I'm thinking of buying another one soon. I was scrolling through the Poke Center store earlier and there were thousands of options but I'm pretty indecisive lol. [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Jul 2021 09:35 AM PDT You've heard of bodybuilding competitions and strength competitions, this is no different except it's for Pokemon. Like previously stated, this competition will be based solely on a Pokémon's brute physical strength and nothing else. You are a pretty powerful trainer who has caught a lot of Pokémon so these 6 are your physically strongest. Which one are you choosing to participate in the strength competition with? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 12:44 AM PDT Hello, fellow trainers. So basically I used to watch the cartoon and I played Yellow, Red/Blue, and also Silver later on as a kid but I outgrew it after Gen 2. I just recently played the remakes (HeartGold & FireRed) and loved them. I was thinking about trying Black/White (or whatever the next in the series is) but I know none of the hundreds of new Pokemon and I'm obviously going to be really lost when it comes to using types to my advantage etc. How did you guys learn about them? Was there a new show that came out? Did you just dive into the game? Sorry if this is a really stupid question, I just didn't know the best approach to coming out of retirement. TIA. Hyuck! I edited the battle between Ash and Lt. Surge to about a minute (Feedback appreciated!) Posted: 10 Jul 2021 10:21 AM PDT Two weeks ago, I made a post about how I shortened Pokemon's 1st episode down to about a minute. Since, I've been going steady at an episode a day. I feel like I've improved a lot as a editor, but I would love some feedback if you have a minute:
Thank you for your time! [link] [comments] |
