Posted: 18 Aug 2021 06:32 AM PDT Updated Gallery with Art, Typings, and Descriptions from the Official Website! https://imgur.com/a/MZvp7mr Brief descriptions with hints to their typings: Wyrdeer: Evolves from Stantler that have become adapted to the cold conditions! Basculegion: Evolves from Basculin, fueled by the souls of those in its shoal who perished in its journey upstream. Braviary: Comes to Hisui in the Winter, and can imbue its screeches with Psychic power to form shockwaves! Growlithe: Works with a partner and is quite wary, likes to protect his territory. His horn is made of rock, but breaks easily! Hisui is the region the game takes place in, with Mt Coronet at its centre. It's what will eventually become the Sinnoh region! Some new info from the Pokemon Legends: Arceus website Posted: 18 Aug 2021 06:44 AM PDT As usual, following a new Direct/Present the website will be updated with some additional info not covered in the stream. Here's what I found: The main characters are named Akari and Rei Commander Kamado is confirmed to be Professor Rowan's ancestor Wyrdeer is Normal/Psychic Basculegion is Water/Ghost Hisuian Growlithe is Fire/Rock Hisuian Braviary is Psychic/Flying EDIT: More info: Unlike previous games, the Pokedex doesn't just fill up automatically after you capture a Pokemon once. You need to "keep studying that Pokémon and complete research tasks to increase your research progress on it and flesh out its Pokédex entry" - which are achievements like capturing the same species multiple times, observing it using a certain attack in the wild, and so on. Other new items are Smoke Bombs that reduce visibility and keep wild Pokemon from noticing you, and Heavy Balls that're more effective at catching Pokémon that haven't yet noticed you, but can't be thrown very far. submitted by /u/chancehugs [link] [comments]

Officially 900 Pokémon Posted: 18 Aug 2021 07:17 AM PDT I think a cool achievement that is being overlooked is that with the official confirmation of Wyrdeer and Basculegion we have hit 900 Pokémon in the National Dex. ITS NOT SO HARD TO OBTAIN ANYMORE Posted: 18 Aug 2021 06:49 AM PDT in the grand underground you can see dawn running into a wild munchlax that means you dont have to go through the excruciating process of slathering honey on trees and waiting 6 real time hours to get a 1% chance of encountering munchlax at a specific tree except you dont know which tree it is because it's random. I'm surprised by how well "Regional Evolutions" have been handled so far. Posted: 18 Aug 2021 06:46 AM PDT When we first learned about this kind of evolution in SWSH, I expected the suite of Pokemon to earn the treatment to be similar to Mega Evolutions. A few underpowered or underappreciated Pokemon like Mawile or Sableye, but also many already powerful and popular Pokemon like Salamance or Garchomp. Instead, we've seen much needed power boosts for Pokemon like Linoone, Corsola, Farfetch'd, and now Stantler and Basculin. I was super glad to see new content for BDSP, as well as some exciting new things for Legends Arceus. You can hate on Pokemon all you want but I truly am dying to step foot into the Sinnoh region with these games. I tried not to spoil anything because people might of not if seen the livestream yet, but I'm just going to say all me needs were met and honestly it exceeded my expectations. Something Interesting About the "New" Region's Name Posted: 18 Aug 2021 07:11 AM PDT Kanto - 5 letters Johto - 5 letters Hoenn - 5 letters Sinnoh - 6 letters Hisui - 5 letters Unova - 5 letters Kalos - 5 letters Alola - 5 letters Galar - 5 letters I see you, Game Freak. I wonder if it was intentional that they did this or if they planned all along to try and give Sinnoh a name that fits the pattern better. Or if it's just a happy coincidence. Can we just appreciate the two trailers? Posted: 18 Aug 2021 06:42 AM PDT As someone who very strongly disliked the look of BDSP, after seeing the full trailer it looks great. They fixed the wonky lighting and fixed the damn saturation, Barry's hair no longer looks like hes turning super sayian! Trainer customisation looks great, the new underground areas they added look great, the contests look great and following pokemon are back?? Awesome! Now as for legends arceus, it blew me away. The lore, story and world, hell even the setting finally feels like gamefreak is now tapping into the true potential of the pokemon franchise. Trainers can now take damage which adds more risk to running into say a rhydon, making it just look all less lazy than say swsh, immersing players in their environment-this is YOUR journey with real risks. The exploration looks like they finally figured out how to do 3d exploration without linear corridors. the new pokemon look cool and well- like pokemon, cinderace looked like a man in a furry suit. The mechanics of Legends arceus look great to, i mean crafting, sneaking, using pokemon to traverse the land, even being able to freely send out pokemon out of their balls when you want feels like something out of the anime. The new "style" gimmick feels less like a gimmick imo and more like a feature which im interested to see what they do with it. All in all BDSP has changed my view on these games and I'll be buying day 1, legends arceus left me hyped af and it finally feels like pokemon is finally a contender in the leuge of modern gaming. I found that in the earlier trailer it looks so dark but it looks so much lighter right now! Contests are coming back, the underground looks AMAZING, and ball seals are making their return!
