Pokemon Sword & Shield spoiler period has expired! Posted: 29 Nov 2019 07:04 AM PST Just a quick announcement. As the title says, the two week spoiler period for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield has now expired. The restriction on spoilers in post titles is lifted, and the names of all new pokemon have been removed from the Automod filters. [link] [comments]
PSA: Rare Candies can now evolve Pokemon that are already at Level 100. Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:28 AM PST If you have a Pokemon that evolves via level up, but for whatever reason it's already at Level 100 before reaching its final form (maybe because someone tried to troll you using Surprise Trade), you can just feed it a Rare Candy and that'll still trigger the evolution, despite not gaining any more levels. This is a nice failsafe to make sure that no individual Pokemon is permanently locked out of evolving. [link] [comments]
One culled Pokémon family every day until Dexit is reversed - Day 26 Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:07 AM PST I'm not sure if everyone felt this way in Gen 1, but I almost never encountered Seel and Dewgong. Maybe they were too late in the game when you've already encountered a bunch of water types to get to the Seafoam Islands, or maybe they were a bit plain compared to Shellder and Cloyster? I quite like how goofy Seel is but evolved, I feel it became a glow-up but with less personality (Dratini to Dragonair had this same issue for me). It loses two of the three main colours and even its eyes go from green to brown! Nice flippers though, I guess! What do y'all think? Convince me there's more going on with the 'Gong! When you win a championship, your team on the title screen updates. I had to take advantage of this. Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:36 AM PST This was actually way easier than I expected it to be now that magikarp has access to hydro pump. I just slapped an eviolite on the mad lad and X item'd it up. Gmax hydro pump triggering the rain meant I could weirdly sweep. Anyway, it was a fun run. [link] [comments]

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, Coalossal sucks as a design Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:25 AM PST This is pretty much a rant but when I played Pokemon Sword, I got Rolycoly because I thought it was a cool idea, a rock type that's also fast. This was still supported by his evolution, Carkoal, which is another powerful yet fast rock type Pokemon. But when he evolved into Coalossal, that all changed, he became slow again and turned into an average rock fire type with nothing remarkable about him except for the coal on his head. This was an extreme disappointment to me because I thought he was going to be a cool and unique Pokemon, but his whole idea was ruined and now he's just another rock type. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Nov 2019 07:49 AM PST This trend started since Gen 6 and while I think Rillaboom is a neat design I think forcing anthropomorphic features to show a concept they're going for needs to stop, some starters have suffered in design for this, like Delphox and Intellion. Below are the list of final evos and their concepts,

Posted: 28 Nov 2019 02:41 PM PST I have a theory that Dreepy and Anorith originated from the same Pokémon. First of all, they share several features visually, and are similar colors. Their Pokédex entries both state that they were originally prehistoric sea creatures. Dreepy is said to be the ghost of an ancient sea creature, while Anorith was revived from a fossil. This leads me to believe that they originated from the same species of Pokémon, but I don't think that either one is the original. Dreepy became different when it became a ghost, giving it the ability to levitate. Anorith probably became a rock type after being revived from a fossil (at least that's what I think personally). Just thought I'd share this idea and see what you guys think. [link] [comments]

Casual/Competitive PSA: Gigantamax Meowth can earn 99999p per battle. Posted: 29 Nov 2019 09:07 AM PST You read that right, 99999 per battle! Its very simple to do, easy enough to set up and you have a perfect resource to grind on with the postgame Championship rematches. You will need:
Now this is all well and good but what can you use this money on?

Posted: 29 Nov 2019 11:20 AM PST This will save you so much time in the long run, and you can always rename your Pokemon at the Pokemon center. It's always a B click so if you hatch 5k eggs that's 5k seconds and 5k less b presses you have to worry about. I'm trying to hit the 50 word limit. I want to get back to hunting sobble. Please. Gimme da sad boi shiny. [link] [comments]

Kanto must be the most zoologicaly boring place in the world. Posted: 28 Nov 2019 03:26 PM PST Nearly all of the 151 original Pokemon can be found in other parts of the world, but not the other way around. The technical reasons are obvious as other games/cards hadn't been invented yet, but just imagine a place like that. Living in a place with no unique creatures (in a world obsessed with such creatures) would be pretty boring. It's no wonder that it was a kid that filled out the Pokedex. They would have the enthusiasm for such a task. Oak was probably like "Gee, this place is interesting. Look kid, just show up when you find something interesting," then the kid never shows up. A great way to parent his grandson. It makes me wonder if Kanto region had some sort of ecology disaster that killed all the Pokemon and then the super common ones migrated in years later. Maybe it was the war that was mentioned by Surge. I guess it's just a weird thing I've been thinking about lately. I can't be the only one to think of this right? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Nov 2019 09:36 PM PST It's relatively well-known information that the Shiny Pokemon in Colosseum and XD are not colored the same as regular Shiny Pokemon (for example Scizor is gold instead of snot green). However, there is more to the story! There are icon sprites for every Pokemon in the game, featuring headshots of the Pokemon by its HP bar so you know who's who. Pretty neat! But what's really cool is that the Shiny Pokemon all have different poses for their icons! They have different expressions or are at different angles, and are really fun to look at. Just like their in-game models, most of the Pokemon icon sprites seem full of character and life. Take a look at Shiny Exploud compared to regular Exploud--it went from looking rather annoyed to totally enraged. Or Shiny Feebas, who is absolutely determined to evolve into a more beautiful Pokemon. Or Shiny Furret, who is the most threatening I have ever seen the long boi look. As for Shiny Crobat, I can't even... What amazes me is the fact that Genius Sonority bothered to make all these alternate sprite arts, especially since almost no one would ever see Shiny Pokemon in-game. It's such a nice detail that was not necessary to include. Certain other developers definitely wouldn't put in that extra work for such little payoff. Another small detail is the fact that they made additional icon sprites for Pokemon who aren't symmetrical, so that they would appear properly when mirrored to look to the left or to the right. Their attention to detail was meticulous, and they went above and beyond. Hope this makes others appreciate these games more, as it did for me. [link] [comments]
The single mechanic change to the wild area that would significantly enhance the game. Posted: 29 Nov 2019 07:58 AM PST When I go online, I'm greeted by a hundred or so strangers who I don't know, who can give me curry ingredients and trade league cards with, but not much else. I go to the wild area now so I can raid with friends. If I could have a lobby with 2 or 3 friends, who were automatically included in my raids, it would change everything. No more fighting the "stamp" system or reloading raids so you can get your friends. Plus, consistently being able to camp with each other. And finally, having the wild area as a private place for you and friends would open up a lot of fun potential things to do (hide and seek, etc). [link] [comments]

Anyone else think Peirs is the hero of the people? Posted: 29 Nov 2019 10:49 AM PST I was just thinking about how a lot of people are complaining about the Dyna/GIGANTIMAX thing... If that is the case, y'all should make Peirs your mascot! This dude refuses to use it haha. Seems like even GF put someone in the game who feels the way you guys do. I don't personally mind it but I still would have had a better time with mega evolutions. Just saying... [link] [comments]

Did a quick sketch of Kabu! [OC] Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:02 AM PST and by quick i mean like 2 hours so uh yeah Honestly I love all the character designs in swsh, they all look unique and awesome in their own ways! It's great how the character designers for the games can always nail the design of older characters and make them look badass :) (cough cough nanu cough) [link] [comments] |
