Posted: 11 Jan 2020 05:50 AM PST First off I have marked this as spoiler just because if I'm right then id hate for this to be spoiled for someone. basically with the new Regi's that have been spoiled for the DLC I have this crazy suspicion that there is going to be some form where all the Regi's go Voltron and combine into some monstrosity. What leads me to believe this is how "Regi-Dragon" is literally a head and "Regi-Electric" looks like it could be a joining point for them to combine. What do you think? is it just some crazy theory or do you think there's a chance I could be right? Edit: thanks to this wonderful community my half-baked theory is worth more than 10% of my total karma. Cheers. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jan 2020 08:26 PM PST Thought shiny galarian slowpoke and Homer Simpson look similar, so I badly drew a combined version of them. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jan 2020 09:44 PM PST A horse with a flaming mane and tail evolved into a unicorn with a flaming mane and tail. The next logical step is for a unicorn with a flaming mane and tail and flaming wings. The Pokemon franchise totally dropped the ball on this opportunity. Maybe in the future franchises they will do this. Edit: wow, I passed out and woke up to all notifications of likes and comments. Much appreciated haha..... I wonder what you guys all think about magcargo not evolving into torkoal. Shout out to my peeps disappointed about Houndoom never evolving into a cerebrus. [link] [comments] |

Complete list of version exclusives and trade codes to help players Posted: 10 Jan 2020 01:43 PM PST So, some commenters and I got to thinking that it would be really cool if the community came together and started using specific link codes to help players gain the version exclusives that they are missing. This list can obviously be updated once the Expansion Pass comes out, but I figured "why not" Obviously not everyone will be in on this, but, I think if we all are on the same page, it at least gives us a better chance than relying on surprise trade. Deino -7201- Larvitar Jangmo-o -7202- Goomy Galarian Farfetch'd -7203- Galarian Ponyta Turtonator -7204- Drampa Mawile -7205- Sableye Gothita -7206- Solosis Rufflet -7207- Vullaby Sawk -7208- Throh Seedot -7209- Lotad Swirlix -7210- Spritzee Scraggy -7211- Croagunk Solrock -7212- Lunatone Passimian -7213- Oranguru Basculin (red stripe) -7214- Basculin (blue stripe) Galarian Darumaka -7215- Galarian Corsola Flapple -7216- Appletun Stonjourner -7217- Eiscue Zacian -7218- Zamazenta And here's an image of it, in case you want to spread the word that way. (https://i.imgur.com/9pdtFWh.png) Feel free to spread it around and maybe we can make everyone's experience playing Sword and Shield a more enjoyable one :) EDIT: Oh my, thanks everyone for all the nice comments and awards :) EDIT: As some others have pointed out, this is already done with the code with code 4448 for trading foreign Dittos for Masuda Method breeding. Keep that number in mind when trading! EDIT: https://m.imgur.com/a/lljlxDA A big thank you to user /u/Und0miel for this visual representation of this concept to make it easier on players! One final culled Pokémon family because Dexit is reversed Posted: 10 Jan 2020 03:08 PM PST Well, what a wild ride. Here are all the mega evolutions that were so highly requested. Thanks for the great discussion and memories y'all shared on these posts! It was a really cool giving different Pokémon a spotlight and hearing what makes them so special to people. What are some of the strangest design choices for Pokemon? Tympole's eyebrows are my vote. Posted: 11 Jan 2020 06:50 AM PST Tympole is a million times cuter without them What Pokemon do you think have odd design choices? I'm not talking about Pokemon that are just overall weird, like Garbodor. I'm talking about things that could have been changed or left off of the Pokemon the way it is that would have looked better. You know what makes the DLC really feel like part of an unfinished game? Posted: 11 Jan 2020 02:20 AM PST Gigantamax Starters. ORAS starters could all mega evolve (and you were given the items to do so as part of the story), and SuMo starters had unique Z-moves (same deal). Why, then, not have the SwoSh starters have Gigantamax forms? Same deal with Venusaur and Blastoise. Even with their simple Gigantamax designs compared to Charizard, the only reason to break up the Kanto starters is if they couldn't be finished in time. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jan 2020 05:57 AM PST In the past, like mentioned in the direct, GameFreak would release another installment to the 2 games released. These are : Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Black 2 & White 2, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. These games aren't connected to the originals, except for B2W2, which were direct sequels. When these games came out, they were full price for whatever system they came out on. They usually did the same thing the half price DLC is doing: Adding new Pokémon, new locations, and more/different story. Using Platinum as an example, they added the Battle Frontier, new Pokémon that weren't in the original Sinnoh Pokédex, such as Houndoom, and tweaked the story to center around Giratina. This is basically what the Expansion Pass is doing, for half the price of the full game. Why is everyone upset right now? Also, you don't have to buy it twice to get both The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. They're just being released separately. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Jan 2020 09:07 AM PST Imagine if Pokemon were real. You think some of them could refuse to evolve? Cause I was just thinking Koffing is a happy ball of gas while Weezing looks like he angered God and is being punished for his sins. This is what I think about on a Saturday morning. [link] [comments] |
With all the Expanison Pack controversy...I wonder... Posted: 11 Jan 2020 05:49 AM PST I know a lot of us fans weren't necessarily expecting Game Freak to release DLC for this game at launch, but that we have gotten DLC it made me think... Because the main game and the DLC are being developed by two separate dev teams, would it be a stretch to think GF wouldn't continue a DLC road map after the Crown Tundra is released? Outside of a remake of a previous generation, I don't see a better way to reintroduce old gen Pokemon with new forms or even additional legendary or mythical Pokemon. And it wouldn't force GF to release a brand new Pokemon game every year if the last main series game is still getting fresh, new updates, which could in turn lead to more polished games in the future? Just a thought. [link] [comments] |

How to breed for competitive iv's, nature, balls and more! Posted: 11 Jan 2020 08:08 AM PST Breeding is broken into basically two parts: planning and breeding. To begin breeding the pokemon you have to make sure you have EVERYTHING planned out. Which sounds daunting but let's break it down more. You have to make sure you have (in order): *special items for certain pokemon (optinal) (such as incense) *Ball (optional) *HA (optional) *egg moves (optional) *Nature *Breeding iv parents (helpful items are the destiny knot and everstone) To begin you need to have the pokemon you aim to have. If you want a dragonite, which will be out example pokemon from now on, replace dragonite with any pokemon you want if that helps. How breeding works Breeding is simple once you know the basics. Breeding any stage pokemon results in a stage one of the pokemon. You cannot breed a dragonite and get a dragonite. You can only get a dratini. For simplicity sake: Female magikarp + male dragonite = magikarp Female dragonite + male magikarp = dratini Ditto + dragonite = dratini Ditto + dratini = dratini Pokemon that have different pokemon depending on male or female goes as followed: Ditto + nidoran male = nidoran male or nidoran female Ditto + illumise = illumise or volbeat Every single pokemon is broken into breeding groups. Some pokemon can be in more than one group, so be sure you know what group the pokemon you want is in. The groups are as followed: monster, human like, bug, mineral, flying, amorphous, field, fairy, grass, dragon, undiscovered, gender known, water 1, water 2, and water 3. However, some pokemon cannot breed at all. These fall into the baby group and undiscovered (lengendaries). *Also, ditto cannot breed with another ditto, but ditto can breed with any pokemon that is not listed above. Resulting in the copy of the pokemon you bred. Which makes ditto the best breeding pokemon. In short you cannot breed a ditto and get a ditto. That being said genderless pokemon cannot breed with other genderless pokemon (excluding ditto which can breed with genderless pokemon that are not in the undiscovered group). That said if you want the hidden ability for a genderless pokemon make sure the pokemon has the hidden ability. You cannot get it later. Hidden abilities will be covered under it's own chapter. Generdless pokemon include pokemin that do not have the male or female sign. If you look up dragonite you can see it is in both the monster and water 1. Any pokemon that is in either of those breeding groups can be bred with dragonite. You can check the egg groups via bulbapedia by either searching by egg group, or looking up a specific pokemon. Ball inheritance: If you want the pokemon to be in a special ball you have to make sure that the pokemon, you aim to have, is caught in the special ball. For this example I will say I want my Dragonite caught in a heavy ball. If the pokemon you already bred is not already caught in the ball you want; you cannot change it later. So make sure the parents is already in the ball you want your final pokemon in. Ball inheritance works as follows: Female magikarp in a lure ball + Male dragonite in a heavy ball = only magikarp in lure balls Female dragonite in a heavy ball + male magikarp in a lure ball = only dratini in a heavy ball Female dratini in a lure ball + male dragonite in a heavy ball = only dratini in a lure ball Female dragonite in a heavy + male dragonite in a lure ball = dratini in either lure or a heavy ball. 50/50 chance. Ditto in a pokeball + dragonite in a heavy ball = only dragonite in a heavy ball So the only way to switch the ball a pokemon is born in is to have the same exact species of pokemon bred with the original parent. Which mean stage 1 pokemon bred with another stage of the same pokemon cannot change the ball. Hidden Ability Hidden abilities can be a little tricky. You cannot magically breed a pokemon that does NOT have the hidden ability and get the hidden ability. This means if you want your final product to have the hidden ability the parent MUST have the hidden ability. To get the hidden ability you have to either trade for it with another person, or find the pokemon with the ha in a raid. Hidden ability works as follows: Female non ha dragonite + non ha ditto= NO chance of hidden ability offspring (0%) Female non ha dragonite + ditto with ha = NO chance of hidden ability offspring (0%) Female non ha dratini + male dragonite with ha= chance of hidden ability offspring (40%) Female dragonite with ha + male dragonite with ha = chance of hidden ability offspring ( 60%) Female dragonite with ha + non ha male dragonite = chance of hidden ability offspring ( 60%) Male dragonite with ha + ditto = chance of hidden ability offspring (40%) This means males can pass down the hidden ability only if they are bred with a female of the same species. That being said males cannot pass down their ha if the female is no the same species. Both parents having the ha does not guarantee the offspring will have their ha. Female have a much higher chance of passing down their ha, and ditto will never pass down the hidden ability. Egg Moves Egg moves are special moves. They can only appear if the parent has the move. They cannot appear during level up or move tutor... sometimes? Sometimes you can breed an egg moves that is normally learned way later in the pokemon levels. Let's go to our example pokemon dragonite. Egg moves are as followed: Aqua jet, dragon breath, dragon dance, dragon pulse, dragon rush, extreme speed, haze, iron tail, mist, supersonic, and water pulse. Out of all these moves only: dragon dance and dragon pulse, can be learned via level up. Some pokemon cannot breed their level up moves so be sure to check. To see if the pokemon you want has any interesting egg moves just check out bulbapedia (again), game data, then scroll down to egg moves. To see how to breed these moves onto the pokemon check under the list avaible on bulbapedia and choose a male parent (remember if you want to breed a pokemon only the female will be copied). Make sure the male parent has the move in its move set (either level it up or use a heart scale if it does not have the move), then throw it in the daycare. Some if the male parents may have more than one move you may want so be sure to plan. Remember you can only have four moves so choose wisely That being said some moves cannot be learned naturally. For example extreme speed on dragonite. Dragonite cannot learn extreme speed naturally you had to have a gift dratini, with the move extreme speed, and breed it. So be sure to check (the move will have a special symbol on bulbapedia). Nature Natures are a huge contributor to having the best pokemon. Natures help one stat by 10% and decrease another by 10%. Which sounds bad at first but bear with me. I want to add if the parent has the desired nature you want, give it an everstone in the daycare. This will force every offspring to have the nature 100% of the time. Pokemon fall into 4 basic categories: physical attackers, special attackers, special defenders and physical defenders. To see where your pokemon falls check smogon, which is what i use. If you have some other site please share it!(scroll to the smogon chapter for more info). Every pokemon can utilize its moveset a different way. Although there maybe quite a few physical defenders every pokemon has pros and cons. To check the moveset go to bulbapedia for moves the pokemon can learn. Also, check smogon for a quick run down of possible problems the pokemon you choose has. Iv breeding Iv breeding is the most complicated part. If my explanation doesnt help try this video: https://youtu.be/OAwJGzJlzck . If it still doesn't make sense no worries let me know and I'll try to help. To start every pokemon has 6 iv (if stands for individual values) these cannot be changed (unless you have bottle caps and a level 100 pokemon). A pokemon is born with ivs in: hp, attack, den fence, special attack, special defence, and speed. Ranging from 0-31; zero being the worst and 31 the best. When you breed your aim is to have 31 in 5 stats and a random iv in the last unused stat of the pokemon you aim for. Exmaple: my dragonite with the moveset: extreme speed, dragon dance, dragon claw, and earthquake. I want it to be a speedy physical attacker. The ivs I want are 31 hp/31 attack /31 defence/? Special attack /31 special defence /31 speed. This makes my dragonite optimal, while it does not sacrifices any attack. Since my move pool does not involve any special moves special attack is useless. If you have a special attacker you would want: 31 hp/? attack /31 defence/31 Special attack /31 special defence /31 speed Physical and special defenders are tricky. Ivs can vary depending on the moveset. Sometimes a defender utilizes both physical and special moves so you cannot sacrifice either your physical or special side. BUT perhaps your defender is slow? You'll want ivs as followed: 31 hp/31 attack /31 defence/31 Special attack /31 special defence/ ? speed Breeding is simple as throwing two pokemon into the daycare and running around until you get an egg. Then (make hatching quicker with a magma armor or heat body ability on the one pokemon in your party as you run around) the egg will hatch, then you check it. You can check it on sword and shield after getring to stage 4 in the battle tower. After that just go to your box and you'll see iv stats. You'll want "best" to be shown as that means 31 ivs in a stat. When breeding, the parents each pass down 3 random ivs. The remaining 3 ivs are completely random... which is bad. You want to control breeding as much as possible. To fix this equip the destiny knot to a breeding parent. This makes it so that 5 ivs between the two parents are passed down to the offspring. Which is great! Much more controlled, much easier. The 6th iv is ALWAYS random. Which is when we breed we want a bad iv in one stat. To make this easier on yourself simply switch out the bad parent with a better offspring. Keep switching out until you get your perfect iv pokemon! Smogon:Rules I use when I battle/tips A quick way to check what pokemon falls where is using smogon (one form of the competitive battling scene. the other is basically anything goes.) I personally like smogon better because you can use a pokemon to the best of its ability compared to the fellow pokemon. Each pokemon falls into a tier: anything goes, uber is, over used, underused, rarely used, never used, pu, and little cups. Just by quickly searching up a pokemon you can see the recommended: move list, ev spread, item, nature, etc. It even shows you complimentary pokemon to use on your team. I wi explain EVs later if people ask, but my fingers are killing me from typing this up. Dont forget ask a question if I didnt answer a question you have :) [link] [comments] |

Idk if anyone has posted about it yet but I didn't see anything about it and figured a bunch of people were as annoyed about the advertisement as me. Hope I helped! [link] [comments] |
