    After 22 years... FINALLY!

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 09:21 PM PST

I've been playing Pokémon since Red and Blue were released. I've never skipped a generation even when I wasn't feeling the games that much. In 22 years (well, tech 21) the only shiny I had caught was the Red Gyarados from Lake of Rage... UNTIL TONIGHT!!!! Caught a brand-new, cute-ass Gigantamax'd shiny Lapras!!! I'm so happy I could cry!

Pokémon placed in their real world biome - Gen 4

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 05:24 AM PST

    Hi all,

After gen 1, 2 and 3, here my take on the real world location of all pokemon of generation 4! Still the same question was applied: Where would each pokemon live if they would be real?

    Enjoy

    Why do I not realize.

Vulpix' name is a pun. It's a weird one, but it's a pun. Vulp, obviously, Vulpine, the classification for Foxes.

    But Vulpix?

    Vulp ix?

    Vulp IX?

    Vulp 9?

    Fox 9?

    Nine tailed Fox?

Aaaaand now I understand why Vulpix evolves into Ninetails.

I know there's a lot of weird things like this in pokemon but I never even thought about it.

Just a thing i was thinking about the galarian legendary birbs

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 05:58 AM PST

Maybe it'll mean anything and it's just a bunch of bullshit but whatever.

Theoretically Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno are the heralds of Lugia, therefore we could assume that also the galarians ones could be the herald of someone, perhaps a galarian Lugia, well since they seem to be a wicked and an aggressive version of the kantonian ones, the galarian Lugia could be that as well, therefore we could have a sort of canon shadow lugia

Fun fact: Foreign traded Pokémon in Gen 8 will have keep their name in their native language when they evolve

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 08:32 AM PST

I got a German un-nicknamed Charmander from Surprise Trade, and instead of reverting to "Charmeleon" like in previous games when it evolved, its name changed to "Glutexo" and then "Glurak", though the German name is otherwise treated like a nickname in dialogue, and there's no indication on the evolution screen ("your Glutexo evolved into Charizard"). Just an interesting tidbit and a change some people might not have noticed.

Hop chose the Pokémon weak to ours, knowing that Leon would take the one he was strong against. He wanted you to fight Leon, lose, and then swoop in and take the championship title. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Or he is just an idiot.

Anyone remember the Pichu Bros. short videos from Pokemon Channel?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 06:23 AM PST

I've tried to post the full Pichu Bros. Episode from the game on Youtube, but ShoPro are a bunch of asshats that keep copyright claiming them. So far, the only one they haven't tried to claim is episode 1.

In case anyone has never seen these videos or wants to rewatch them, I've uploaded them to Gdrive. Link below.

Why is this series so good at making bugs cute/friggin awesome instead of creepy?

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 10:24 PM PST

I absolutely despise bugs in real life, ESPECIALLY spiders, yet one of my favorite Pokemon is Galvantula, and I genuinely like a lot of the bug types in the games (like Snom/Frosmoth, Volcarona, Scolipede, etc.). So what the heck? Why do I love these creepy crawlies in game but have a heart attack any time a spider gets close to me? Is it a style thing?
