    Welcome to the HYPE THREAD, a place to share your excitement about in-game achievements, brag about success, and get hyped for upcoming events. CAPS LOCK IS OPTIONAL IF IT HELPS YOU GET YOUR HYPE ON!

    This is a chance to post about your successes. Our rules against self-promotion and most low-quality content, including shiny Pokemon pics, are relaxed in these threads--please talk all you like about your luck and accomplishments!

    This thread is meant to be pretty positive, so please think twice before downvoting someone! Rude and negative comments will be removed -- please report them if you see them :D

    This thread is also the place to earn /r/pokemon's prestige flair for completing various aspects of the games. To claim your flair, post a screenshot of your accomplishment in the comments below, accompanied by some indication (username on a piece of paper in the photo, for example) that it's yours. Please note that flairs are assigned once weekly, so it may take up to seven days for your flair to appear. Only one prestige flair can be assigned at once, and prestige flairs will overwrite other event flair awarded on this subreddit—pick carefully! Flair is currently available for:

    Galar Prestige Flairs

    • Catching Charm: Post a screenshot of your completed Galar Regional Dex.
    • Curry Mark: Post a screenshot of your completed Curry Dex.

    Pokemon Home Grievances

    I'm not seeing many posts on the launch of Home and it confuses me because I see quite a few legitimate problems with it that no one is getting up in arms about.

    Trading:

    1) Wonderbox - We're several days out from the release of Home and the Wonderbox isn't trading away Pokemon any faster than it did on launch day. At this point I'm filling my box before bed and getting a new box 8 hours when I wake up and that's pretty ridiculous. Did GF do this to incentivize people to purchase Home? I can't imagine it feels good to have a limit of 3 when it takes so long to use it.

    2) GTS - Has the same problems as before it has always had and GF has shown us that they learned nothing. Why can people ask for mythical Pokemon that can't be traded? Why does deselecting "Include people searching for Legendary and Mythical Pokemon" still include people asking for Phione which can't be traded? For the matter of fact, why can't Phione be traded, it's breed-able. Why can't meltan or melmetal be traded on the GTS, I can make an infinite amount of them on my Go account, just let me do it.

    3) Room trades - A faster Wonderbox that launched broken and I haven't attempted to use the fixed version.

    4) Friend Trade - Is the worst sin of all. This is the most inane and chock full of stupid functionality on this app. You have a friend trade limit of 10 per day. What? GF are you kidding me right now? Why do I have a Friend Trade limit? Why am I limited in my ability to help my friends complete their national dex? I payed 17$ to get mad. Even worse than the limit, Friend Trade only works if you're in the same room as your friend. This right here, is the most regressive aspect of trading. GF really couldn't have bungled this up worse if they tried. It is impossible to trade non-Galar dex Pokemon to your friends who live even one city over, much less a continent. But don't worry, GF said that people were incorrect when they called Pokemon Home a Pokemon prison, so it's okay.

    Overall trading in Home is a whole mess. The worst part about the entirety of it, is that all these problems seem to have been implemented on purpose. GF purposefully made Trade the most regressive in the series. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl had a more functional trade system.

    Home Itself:

    1) Phone and Switch App - At first I was fine with having an app on both systems, but the more I think about it, the more it makes me mad. The Switch app has so little functionality that all you can do with it is reorganize your Pokemon in your boxes, and Transfer Pokemon from your Switch games and PokeBank into Home. Why did they feel the need to create two different apps? Couldn't they have just put all the Phone functionality into the Switch to make it easier for us? They could have also implemented Friend trades to connect to your switch friends to make trading over long distances a breeze. Plus we know that they have the ability to connect Pokemon Go to a switch game, they just did it with Let's Go. Future functionality of importing Go Pokemon into Home should've been easy and not required a Phone app.

    3) Completing the Dex - Is a huge mess and they screwed up the rewards so bad they had to stagger its release. Honestly not surprised, GF time and time again shows us that inside they truly are an indie dev company. There are several Pokemon inside Home that the dex isn't picking up so guess my dex goes incomplete until they fix it.

    Really not sure why GF structured the apps themselves like they did. Everything seems designed so counter intuitive and made to inconvenience the player as much as possible. Overall this is the worst 17$ I have ever spent in my life. GF is also holding my non-Galar Pokemon hostage for an additional 17$ a year so I guess that's pretty cool of them. GF is quickly blowing through 23 years of goodwill, this 24th year might be goodwill bankrupt.

    These are just the major thoughts I had, I'm sure I'll edit this post with more issues as I realize them. Is there anything I'm missing?
