Topic: Third-version Pokemon games vs. DLC expansion passes!

Game Freak is trying something new with Pokemon Sword and Shield; instead of making a new "third version" of the game similarly to what Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Black 2/White 2 and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon have been, they are adding new content to Sword and Shield directly through DLC expansion passes. As we know, purchasing this expansion pass will allow us to explore the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra, adding new and returning Pokemon as well as new features. The fundamental difference is that the third version games from before also altered the main plot in some way, while the expansion pass will provide players with more content while not affecting the base game.

What do you guys prefer? Do you prefer Game Freak publishing third version games? Or do you prefer having expansion pass DLC? Should DLC impact the base storyline in some way or stay as post-game content?
