Rock-types deserve better special moves Posted: 22 Aug 2020 01:26 AM PDT Like many of you, I am a Pokemon fan and yet there is something that needs to be addressed to the Pokemon Company is that there isn't enough special Rock-type moves since the only one they have currently are Ancient Power, Power Gem and Meteor Beam. Ancient Power is the worst special Rock-type move to date since it only has a base power of 60, 5 Power Points and a 10% chance of increasing all stats by 1 stage. Power Gem has a base power of 80 thanks to a power boost from Generation 7, but sadly it has no secondary effect. Meteor Beam is the strongest special Rock-type move to date increasing the Pokemon's Special Attack by one stage but it's a charge move. So unfortunately Offensive Rock types aren't doing so well in the special category than they are at the physical department since most moves can't be learned by every Rock Pokemon, so I wish there was a strong special Rock-type move that can be learned by every Rock-type Pokemon like Omastar to benefit it's higher base 115 Special Attack. Here are my ideas for Special Rock-type moves and ideally named after jewellery: *Sapphire Storm has a base power of 60 dealing damage to every Pokemon but the user making it a special variation of Bulldoze. *Ruby Cannon is a special variation of Hyper Beam and is the special counterpart of Rock Wrecker but only having a base power of 135. *Emerald Flash has a base power of 50 and guarantees increasing Speed by 1 stage. *Topaz Glitter has a base power of 85 and has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Special Attack by 1 stage. *Pebble Pistol is multi-hit move that hits up to 3 times with each hit dealing 30 base power. *Crystal Cannon has a base power of 120 but has 70% accuracy and has a chance of lowering the target's Special Defense. *Jade Blast has a base power of 75 and deals super-effective damage to Steel-types. *Amethyst Heal has a base power of 70 and can heal the Pokemon's own status condition so you can be a cleric and a attacker simultaneously. *Magical Rocks has a base power of 50 base power but 95% accuracy. *Onyx Eyes is a weak special Rock-type move a base power of 40. *Citrine Crush has a base power of 105 and has a 40% chance of harshly lower the target's Attack by 2 stages. *Ultra Gold Laser has a base power of 175 but harshly lowers Defense, Special Attack and Special Defense by 3 stages, also reduces the user's HP by 75% if the move missed or if the target protected itself. *Igneous Blaze Blast has a base power of 70 and can also deal Fire-type damage but can only be learnt by Magcargo and Coalossal. PSA: You're able to watch nearly every pokemon movie for free on the pokemon website. Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:28 AM PDT The selection on Pokemon TV changes every month or so. The order for movies more or less follows the order of release, with the occasional special or seasonal short in here and there. Right now you can watch The First Movie, which leads me to think that another "cycle" of movies is about to start soon. You can watch the anime too! [link] [comments] |
We need a viable physical Rock-type move with 100% accuracy. Posted: 22 Aug 2020 06:46 AM PDT We need a decently strong Rock-type move in the physical department that has a 100% accuracy as the most common Rock-type moves seen in the competitive side of Pokemon are Stone Edge, Rock Slide and Stealth Rock. Here are my ideas for Rock-types moves with 100% accuracy: *Heavy Headbutt is less powerful but more accurate version of Head Smash having a base power of 120 serving it as a Double-Edge variation. *Fists of Stone has a base power of 80 and deals special damage targeting the enemy's Special Defense instead of Defense. *Gravel Dash is a priority attack having a base power of 30 and lowers the target's Speed. *Rock Fangs should only be learnt by Tyranitar, Tyrantrum, Lycanrock and Drednaw having a base power of 85. *Fossil Fury has a base power of 100 learnt only by Fossil Pokemon with no additional effects. *Rock Punch is a basic attack with a base power of 75. *Stone Cleaver has a base power of 90 but decreases the user's attack by 1 stage. *Hardened Tackle can potentially increase the user's defensive prowess by 1 stage. So what do you think? [link] [comments] |

Disappointed in the Sword and Shield Starters Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:25 AM PDT When Sword and Shield was announced, I was kinda excited to see the starters and see what they could do. So after a while of being released and seeing their mid and finale evolution, i was disappointed. For one reason, while i think the grooky line is somewhat okay, the other two are kinda meh in my opinion. Another reason is that they are just mono types and to be honest, that seems kinda boring in a way. So in this case I wanted to ask is anyone else disappointed in the starters or is it just me. Aerodactyl needs Brave Bird and Head Smash! Posted: 22 Aug 2020 01:50 AM PDT Aerodactyl is Fossil Pokemon like Omanyte and Kabuto introduced in Generation 1 where it can be resurrected with the Old Amber at Pewter Museum however the other two, Aerodactyl is a Rock/Flying thus serving it as a decent glass cannon with fragility but makes up for great Speed and above average offensive prowess. Aerodactyl has two abilities by default being Pressure and Rock Head; the former reduces PP usage from the Pokemon's moves while the latter negates recoil damage. However the only move Aerodactyl learns when Rock Head as its ability is Double Edge which is a Normal-type move. The reason why Aerodactyl should learn both Brave Bird and Head Smash not only for STAB moves that benefits Rock Head, but Aerodactyl is based on a pterodactyl a prehistoric avian where dinosaurs existed at the time prior to becoming extinct due to a meteor. Do you too struggle with starters being "too human"? Posted: 21 Aug 2020 08:07 PM PDT I'll explain, in gens 1-3 I liked all the starters. Except for Blaziken which I was indifferent to. Gen 4 I liked all the starters and gen5 I was again indifferent to Emboar (no hate for fire/fighting srsly). Then gen 6 came and I didn't particularly like any of the starters. I was especially repulsed by Delphox. Enough so that I have only used it once. Moving to gen 7 and I didn't like Incineroar. Finally gen 8 comes along and I cannot bond with any of the starters. My thoughts are "they look too 'human-like'". This does extend to other Pokemon too human in appearance, like Conkeldurr, the Machop line, sawk/Throh, etc. I'm curious if anyone else shares my thoughts or is opposite. [link] [comments] |
PSA: event gastrodon for SwSh now available till 23rd 14:59 UTC Posted: 21 Aug 2020 10:00 PM PDT The event gastrodon which matches the one used by the winner of 2019 japan championship is now available via mystery gift. How come Castform never had a sandstorm form? Posted: 22 Aug 2020 07:21 AM PDT Do you remember Castform? Castform is a standalone Normal-type Pokemon introduced in the third generation of Pokemon where a representative of the Weather Institute gives a Castform as a gift of gratitude. Forecast is Castform's trademark Ability which allows it transform into various forms depending on the active weather so for instance: *Fire-type if the weather is sunny *Water-type if the weather is rainy *Ice-type if the weather is snowy Then what of sandstorm, even Weather Ball becomes a Rock-type move. Can You Beat A Level 100 Hoppip With A Level 5 Totodile? (Video) Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:45 AM PDT I attempt to answer what has never been attempted before: https://youtu.be/UCS1_W-xMyg [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Aug 2020 09:59 AM PDT I've been playing a lot of Pokémon go and Pokémon masters recently on my phone and I realized that we could absolutely have a new full Pokémon ranger game on the phone. The controls would be super easy and could look gorgeous. I would even be willing to pay $9.99 outright to keep ads and micro transactions out of the game. I know Pokémon ranger wasn't the most popular but I think it could be fun! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Aug 2020 09:15 AM PDT Hey all! I'm just finishing up my first playthrough of Platinum in probably like 10 years, and I'm trying to decide which game to play next. I've narrowed it down to either HeartGold or Black (with intent to play Black 2 after). Just like Platinum, I haven't played either of these games since I was a kid. I did play Crystal earlier this year though, so I'm kind of leaning towards Black since I have that recent experience with Johto. Thoughts? Edit: I'll probably end up going with Black, but keep the opinions coming! Also who's out here downvoting people?? [link] [comments] |
Something needs to be done about macamps.com Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:23 AM PDT I've been playing sword and shield again and I noticed a lot of surprise trading advertising websites where you can buy Pokemon. I feel it's unethical to advertise things in a children's game. I could put any URL as my trainer name even adult websites. Game freak needs to do something about this if the franchise is going to continue focusing more on online. I feel like we should complain so they are aware of the problem. The Pokemon company can be contacted at the following places https://mobile.twitter.com/Pokemon?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor [link] [comments] |
If you could change ONE THING about SwSh, what would it be and WHY? Posted: 22 Aug 2020 10:20 AM PDT Aside from most animations being reused or simply being rushed, I'd change the exclusives. I don't mean the mons, I mean put every pokemon into ONE game. Like, we LITERALLY do not need two versions of the same thing THIS late in Pokemon. I know game exclusives have been a thing since Pokemon's release but wouldn't' it be better if there was only one game for ALL? [link] [comments] |
If you were a Gym Leader, what would your gym be like? Posted: 22 Aug 2020 12:47 AM PDT Restrictions: -You can have a maximum of 5 Pokemon if you are the final leader, 4 if you are the 3rd-7th leader, and 3 if you are one of the first two Gym Leaders. -As long as you only have 1 Pokemon different from your chosen typing maximum, you can choose any Pokemon from any region. -You can deviate from the one typing restriction and do a themed gym, where all Pokemon have to match your chosen theme, gimmick, color, etc. In that case, you are not allowed to have a Pokemon different from your theme. -Your Gym must have some sort of puzzle that challengers would solve, such as walking around with no light or trivia questions. So..... I Played Pokemon Emerald on a Watermelon Posted: 22 Aug 2020 11:53 AM PDT Something fun that I made during the semester break! Chose Pokemon Emerald Since it's my favorite version even till this day. Everyone likes the battle frontier right? XD Watch it here! [link] [comments] |
Battle gimmick idea : Legendary summons Posted: 22 Aug 2020 07:05 AM PDT Since every generation must have a new battle gimmick that replace the old one, might aswell embrace and have fun with it. My idea is to have a legendary summon, basically have the ability to summon a legendary/mythical to perform a single nuke attack, callback to old jrpgs like ff7, and summon these godlike creatures to basically a nuke everything on screen button(espiecially knights of the round) It is like Z move, but unlike it, is not tied to whoever equips rather is more like the 7th party member of your team that you must pick before a match, that you can only do one nuke attack and then Afk later each nuke attack also have a very large side effect within it, unique to the legendary itself, you can still use legendaries in the game, and it'll play a unique animation if the legendary you summon is actually within your team. example : Mewtwo : basically shadow mewtwo's finisher in pokken, which is basically frieza, with the side effect that it ignores ANY debuff, be it stat decrease, trick room, light screen, etc. Darkrai : another finisher straight from pokken, but the added ability to instantly put any enemy that is still alive to sleep. Groundon : Max Precipes blade, with the added ability that omega groudon's drought is now in effect, the one where no water is Kyogre : Same logic applies with groudon but only wetter Dialga : adamant roar of time, when used, any bad effect like damage taken, status inflicted or anything from the last turn is basically undone Palkia : Lustrous special rend, another powerful move, this time it actually pass back any status move back to the opponent rather than undo it like it never happen. Arceus : Alpha omega judgement, the strongest move in the entire series, and the type differs on which the pokemon's main you are using. Pikachu (because gamefreak would do that) : Basically summons all the pikachu cosplay and ash hats and do one ultimate volt tackle, with a confirm paralysis to all opponent [link] [comments] |
Pokemon Colosseum and XD In-Game Teams (Spoilers for attainable pokemon!) Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:05 AM PDT These two games are ones I've always wanted to play because they offer a lot of challenge and some really interesting ideas into the franchise (GAME FREAK PLEASE REMAKE THESE OR MAKE A SEQUEL!). I will be giving in game teams that would be feasible to use up until the final bosses and then teams for what's comparable to the metagame: Mt. Battle and Deep and Orre Colosseum Respectively. Posted: 22 Aug 2020 07:23 AM PDT so I saw a live stream on my Youtube home page, and it was a Gmax shiny 6Iv HA Alcremie raid and a shiny 6Iv HA eevee raid "giveaway" by using link codes and then the host leaving and repeating the process. Are the raids hacked? And if they are, can you get banned for catching the pokemon that are from those hacked raids? [link] [comments] |
