Ten years ago today, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver were released in North America. Posted: 13 Mar 2020 10:20 PM PDT Even a decade later, many of us consider this the series' highest peak. For me, it's weird to think it's been so long. Feels like only yesterday I walked up to GameStop and picked up my copy, Pokéwalker included. And though I personally didn't play the original GSC until much later, it still feels nostalgic in my heart. What are your thoughts on HGSS a decade after its release? [link] [comments] |
Missed Opportunity: Pokemon Eclipse Posted: 14 Mar 2020 03:53 AM PDT HOW COULD THEY NOT DO ECLIPSE?! It was right there. Pokemon Moon is my current favorite game that I've played so far (I started playing in Gen 4). When they announced Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, I felt very disappointed. They should have done an Eclipse version of the two games. It'll go with the other themes of the other legendaries, like Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Here are a few ideas that I came up with that could've happened in Eclipse: LEGENDARIES - Depending on the version, Solgaleo and Lunala could become corrupted by Necrozma (who was awakened by the eclipse) - OR Necrozma could corrupt them and then cause the eclipse - OR Cosmog becomes a completely different legendary altogether due to the eclipse POKEMON - Pokemon with Sun-based powers or Dark types could have special variants or forms like Lycanroc's Dusk form -Pokemon could evolve into new evolutions like Galarian Zigzagoon - Eevee could have an evolution based on the eclipse. Maybe a special form of Umbreon because Eclipses have Umbras -OR finally get a flying-type "AVEON" is so obvious of a name I'm surprised they didn't make one yet ULTRA BEASTS - Actually have them available to catch before post-game - You're given a couple Beast balls and you come across an Ultra beast by accident in the wild and you catch one. Foreshadowing the eclipse and going to Ultra Space. STORY - The corrupted Lunala/Solgaleo (BOSS) uses the power of the Eclipse to take control of other people's Pokemon or wild Pokemon - The evil Pokemon are transported into Ultra Space along with the BOSS and you follow them into the portal - In order to save the Pokemon, you and your rival (or other characters) have to battle them so that they can snap out of BOSS's influence. - After reaching BOSS, you receive a special Z-move by the Tapus (or the Tapus help in the final battle) that can defeat BOSS and the legendary is freed from Necrozma and you can catch it with the Master ball -OR You have to defeat the BOSS using only Ultra Beasts since you're in Ultra Space - After defeating Necrozma, Solgaleo or Lunala end the eclipse and lets you catch it after saving it This is just me spitballing some ideas. I know Pokemon has had a bunch of missed opportunities, but this just seemed like the most obvious. [link] [comments] |
Pikachu x Razer Keyboard I picked up today Posted: 14 Mar 2020 07:39 AM PDT Was at a convention at Uni and they were selling these genuine Pikachu x Razer keyboards, and being a China only exclusive I could not resist !! edit: formatting [link] [comments] |
The characters in the Pokémon anime are one dimensional Posted: 14 Mar 2020 08:15 AM PDT This is something that has always frustrated me. It seems like there is little to no character development. For example whenever ash encounters a Pokémon that he's already seen in the past or even owns and has had an extensive relationship with, he acts like he's never seen that type of Pokémon in his life. He doesn't seem to relate in any way with his past experiences. Like in Alola, he never says anything about his own charizard when he sees kiawe's. It seems kinda weird considering a normal human would bring that up to relate. Another example is from the diamond and pearl series when ash visits the first gym. I'm actually watching this episode right now and I was expecting Brock the mention something to the gym leader about how he was a rock type leader himself in kanto, but nope, it's as if he doesn't remember anything from the past. It's just so annoying to me [link] [comments] |
Are you a John (id no. 038900) that traded with a Robin (070017) today? Posted: 14 Mar 2020 07:00 AM PDT Looking for them as I was trading a Zamazenta (gotten through trades, had a terrible nickname) for Zacian and accidentally quit before offering a trade back. [link] [comments] |
Mystery Dungeon players, which Starter/Partner Pokémon duo has been your favourite to play as? Posted: 14 Mar 2020 11:02 AM PDT I've been in a bit of a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon mood lately in replaying Explorers of Sky; at the time of making this post, I'm an Eevee with Pikachu for my partner and I just cleared the Future segment of the main story. All in all, it's been an interesting playthrough so far, even if all I do for the most part is spam Tackle. What about you? Which Starter/Partner combo has been the most enjoyable for you to play as? For some reason, my favorite part when playing pokemon is when everystory is done. Posted: 14 Mar 2020 10:13 AM PDT i'm talking everything, post game everything. because it finally let you explore the dang place at your own pace and you have access to everything, and all i do is catch more pokemon, build my army, loot money etc. approximately where i spent 100 hours on. I play pokemon with the same mentality of monster hunter or dungeons & dragon. where the game is mostly you with a limited poweset trying to either live or survive the world you are set in, in this case is just living, espiecially now in sword and shield with the wild area, and now we are getting 3, i'll be in sword and shield for a long while. I think this is what i think pokemon should be all about, as a whole game where is more about making your own adventure than the game tell a specific story to tell. [link] [comments] |
When will Pokemon 2019 be dubbed Posted: 14 Mar 2020 11:18 AM PDT I have always watched the dubbed version of Pokemon. I have gotten so used to all the voices so i feel like once i start watching the new anime it wont feel the same, and plus I don't want to constantly have to read subs. So could anyone tell me when the episodes might be dubbed and especially when they might come out on a website like kiss anime. [link] [comments] |

It wasn't long before we completely destroyed it and lost the watch because we were dumb kids. Today, I'm proud to say I've reclaimed part of my childhood and I'm going to cherish and keep it safe forever. (I spent way too much and now my summer is ruined but that's okay lol) [link] [comments] |
Pokemon Frontier: My Idea for Gen 9 Posted: 14 Mar 2020 04:24 AM PDT This is my idea for a future Pokemon game. Following the BOTW methodology this game will go back to basics and rebuild itself free from the tropes the series has found itself in. Firstly it will only be one game with all available Pokemon in it. No more splitting the game in two. The Game is Set in the Ularule region. Based of Australia this region prides itself on its diverse climate and biomes on top of its abundant resources and medical advancements. Locations include a massive river based city, a big open cut mine, vast deserts, Lush Forests and Jungles, sandy beaches and snowy mountains. You will even be able to dive into a beautiful coral reef. The Game will focus on Story, Freedom and the relationship between Trainers and Pokemon. The Gameplay will take a serious departure from the Pokemon norm. This will be an action RPG. Combining the real time combat from Final Fantasy 15 with the ATB from Final Fantasy 7 remake. The entire region is a total open world in the same vain as BOTW, Pokemon can be caught by throwing a poke ball before engaging in a fight. Types and stats will work in the same way as normal. The Pokemon Professor would be based of Steve Irwin. The friendly rival will be based on Bindi Irwin, With them you will travel across Ularule to find and capture every Pokemon in the region so that they may be protected at the professors zoo. There will be 2 other Legendary story rival and a Gym Challenge rival. There will be two enemy teams. Team Dream, a group of radical environmentalists who want to capture all invasive Pokemon species and attack anyone who attempts to Mine or deforest "sacred land" inspired by radical environmental groups in Australia with some influence from the Aboriginal People of Australia, like team skull and Yell before them they are a misguided group and are straightend out by their leadership. The second team is The Fountain Corporation. Inspired by Rayndian Individualists they are a rich conglomerate who poach pokemon, Pour sewers into rivers and deforest entire bush lands to build mines. Both teams will feel pushed to summon a legendary that will fight for them. Team Dream will summon a legendary styled after the Rainbow Serpent of Dreaming myth, and the Fountain Corporation will summon a legendary based on the First Kangaroo Myth also of Dreaming myth. There will be a final evil Pokemon based of the Bunyip Myth that deems humanity a lost cause and will decide to destory all humans leaving only Pokemon. On top of all of this there is an International Pokemon League that will be hosted in Ularule and all the Champions from all over the world will be taking part. To enter you must complete the Ularule league and then defeat a secondary League of different Elite four members in brand new elite gyms resulting in a gym for every type available in the game. This will then extend to an Elite Championship where you challenge 10 former champions such as Lance,Blue, Cynthia, Steven, N, Gladion, Lillie, Leon, Marnie and Hop. After finishing this you will take on the World Champions. These will be 10 former Protagonists from the series. Red, Ethan, May, Dawn, Hilda, Rosa, Selena, Elio, Gloria and Finally Ash. Complete this and you become the top trainer in the world and recive a special mythical Pokemon that cannot be traded or recieved any other way. This was done to make the league plot seem like something that matters and isn't just an after thought. This brings us to one of the most important aspects of this game. In this game you will be able to choose a side or remain neutral. Depending on what you do you will get a very different ending. There are several endings but they all revolve around Four routes. The World League route, The Team Dream Route, The Fountain Corporation Route and the Hero of All Route(professor route). When battling you take direct control of the Pokemon you threw, if you released more than one you can switch between them at will. You can only release an additional Pokemon by maxing friendship with them. If your whole team have max friendship you can perform a full release and have 6 Pokemon on field at once. Also while battling your trainer will still be on field and be vaulnrabel to attack, you must protect the trainer because of the trainer faints it is an automatic white out. Also depending on what team or route you pick you will get special equipment that will change the battling system. The professor route will grant you the Z move ability, Fountain route will grant you the snag em from XD, The Dream Route will grant you mega evolutions and League route will grant Dynamax. I top of that all the previous forms of Pokemon interactions such as petting, camping, walking and styling will be available. And Traversale TMs will just be inherent abilities of Pokemon that could previously learn them, Attack variants will still be available to learn via TMs but you will not need them to move around. This is to help reinforce the freedom of this games open world. Finally, the game shall be fully voiced. All text boxes, Cutscenes and even open world battles will be fully voiced, even the protagonist will voice your choices and yell Pokemon and attack names during battles. This protagonist will also be fully customisable from skin, hair, body type and even age although it will only go between 10-19. Sadly, at release a lot of Pokemon will be cut, however the cuts will mostly be the Useless or really weird ones. Some really beloved Pokemon will also be lost and will be available Via DLC which will reintroduce legendaries and other Pokemon by region. For example a Kanto pack, Johto pack. These packs will give you all the Pokemon from these regions available to find in to open world, sometimes adding special locations to the map to find them. Also Ularulian Forms will also be available. These are the ideas for the Pokemon game I would want to not only Play but make. Thank You for reading, any Poketuber who likes this please DM me as I would love to share this idea in a video format. I just suck at editing. Please share your thoughts below I love responding to questions. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Mar 2020 08:41 AM PDT So, I was playing usum, and my scolipede caught Pokerus, and it spread to the rest of my team. This happened in 2019. They all still have Pokerus. Does Pokerus have a time limit, does it only go away under certain circumstances, or is this a glitch? I'm not complaining or anything, permanent Pokerus sounds amazing. [link] [comments] |
Pokémon home let’s me access “wrong” 30 Pokémon when reverted to basic plan Posted: 13 Mar 2020 10:25 PM PDT I payed for premium this first month and then organized the 30 mons I wanted to access in the first box since I assumed that was were to place them. However it seems that the "basic box" 30 Pokémon was just picked from the "most recent" category or something, because most of the mons I can access now are ones that I don't care about that was traded through wonder box. Frustrated. [link] [comments] |

My copy of Pokemon Platinum freezes. Is it Real or Fake? Posted: 14 Mar 2020 09:02 AM PDT I bought a copy of Pokemon platinum years back and I want to know if it's legit. It's a used copy I got from eBay, and it doesn't have any of the features bootleg copies have. All my ds's recognize it, I've traded Pokemon from it to other gen iv games, and even up to Pokemon bank. But the game freezes sometimes. Is it real? Is it fake? Did the previous owner use Action Replay on it? I need help on this. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Mar 2020 09:53 AM PDT Something I thought of the other day is a max raid minigame. It's simple really. One player plays as the dynamax pokemon while the other three players have to work together to defeat him. The dynamax pokemon has a certain number a status wipes and shields and has to strategize when to use then to win. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Trying to pick the last member of my Soul Silver team. Posted: 14 Mar 2020 10:59 AM PDT I started my playthrough last night and have been theory crafting a team. I've come up with 5 so far, Typhlosion, Espeon, Tyranitar, Ampharos, and Gengar. I already have quilava (firefox) mareep (tesla) and gastly (Rick gastly). I'm trying to decide my final spot between Lapras and Dragonite. Which would be better for my team? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Mar 2020 10:44 AM PDT I am looking for an Aholan Vulpix with HA in a dive, heal, dream, or love ball. I can offer a Gmax Hatterene with HA in a repeat ball Or a Venusaur with overgrow in a friend ball. I am trying to make a fairy theme team and need this Vulpix as a member of the team. I currently have Grimmsnarl, Htterene, Sylveon, and Alcremie. [link] [comments] |
Game: Your Government Assigned Team Posted: 13 Mar 2020 10:26 PM PDT First Pokemon: an unpopular/overlooked Pokemon you like Second Pokemon: a Pokemon of your least favorite type, or a type you don't tend to like so much (dual types are fine) Third Pokemon: a Pokemon that begins with the first letter of your first name (you can also do the first letter of your last name) Fourth Pokemon: a Pokemon of your favorite color Fifth Pokemon: a Pokemon you like more than you used to (be it a Pokemon you used to dislike, or just one you felt neutrally about) Sixth Pokemon: a Pokemon from your least favorite gen, or a gen you otherwise don't like as much as the others Once you have your team go here to make a trainer card Feel free to do whatever you want with this information on your card you create, use it for trainersonas and/or create stories from it, play with said team in any game where you could get all those Pokemon if possible, figure out which moveset and abilities you'd want on all of them and maybe even use that to test your skills against others on this thread [link] [comments] |
Something I’ve always wondered Posted: 14 Mar 2020 08:49 AM PDT Now I can imagine the issue was because of the original Pokemon game being on on game oh and there was a lot of restrictions there. But why, nowadays can we not select which Pokemon we want to go into back, like when we run across a wild Pokemon or a trainer. It's always the first on the list. I feel like nowadays it should ask which Pokemon your to use. [link] [comments] |
