Back in 1999, Nintendo held Official tournaments for Red/Blue. One of the perks of going was that they would give you a Mew for your game. They also provided a certificate, since the only other way to get one was through a cheat.

[Rebuild Tuesday] SwSh Meta Predictions: Stonjourner!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to this week's edition of Rebuild Tuesday, a weekly event we're doing along with our Discord!

Since Sword/Shield just recently came out and brought many changes to the metagame, we'll be looking at the newer Pokemon and how they are in the currently developing meta in the next several weeks.

This week's Pokemon is Stonjourner!

#874 Stonjourner (Japanese イシヘンジン Ishihengin)

Big Rock Pokémon

It stands in grasslands, watching the sun's descent from zenith to horizon. This Pokémon has a talent for delivering dynamic kicks. Once a year, on a specific date and at a specific time, they gather out of nowhere and form up in a circle.

Stonjourner's Base Stats:

HP: 100
Attack: 125
Defense: 135
Sp. Attack: 20
Sp. Defense: 20
Speed: 70

Introduction:

Stonjourner is the prime example of a Pokemon that Game Freak intentionally makes really bad. With a pure Rock typing, abysmally bad special bulk and mediocre speed, this Pokemon is going to get KO'd very easily. Furthermore, its movepool, while ideal offensively, is extremely shallow and easy to predict and overcome. Its strengths are entirely reliant on the opponent not bringing many counters to Stonjourner. Finally, its sole ability only functions in double battles, making it completely useless in single battles. Stonjourner has potential to be a wallbreaker, but is completely overshadowed by its weaknesses.

How viable do you trainers think Stonjourner is? Is there anything else you think it needs in order to be a good competitive Pokemon (e.g. new moves, stats, abilities or typings)? What is its most optimal set?
