[Rebuild Tuesday] SwSh Meta Predictions: Zarude!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to this week's edition of Rebuild Tuesday, a weekly event we're doing along with our Discord!

Continuing with the series from the last few weeks, instead of asking you to rebuild an existing Pokémon, this week we're asking you to speculate on where an upcoming Pokémon will end up in the meta! This time, the Pokémon's moves and base stats have been datamined. While we will not be covering those on our introduction, please be aware that this topic will likely contain SPOILERS!

This week's Pokemon is Zarude!

#893 Zarude (Japanese ザルード Zarude)

Rogue Monkey Pokémon

Introduction:

Zarude is a Dark/Grass mythical Pokémon. Its ability is Leaf Guard, which prevents the bearer from receiving a major status condition and using Rest if there is sunny weather. It has a signature Grass-type status move called Jungle Healing, which recovers the HP and status conditions of Zarude and ally Pokémon. Unfortunately, Zarude will have a hard time making its place within the OU meta with its underwhelming ability and signature move. Combined with its defensive typing, it will struggle against prominent Pokémon present throughout the tier. Hopefully Zarude will have the ability to utilize ample coverage or support options with its stats to make up for its other flaws.
