Topic: Create your own gym leader gimmick!

In Sword and Shield, Opal has you answer questions, and then that affects the battle. If you were a gym leader and could have a weird rule for your battles what would it be? It could be weather, certain moves not being allowed, or something completely different! Feel free to post what your team would be too!

This is a fantastic idea. I'm planning on filling one of my boxes with Pokémon to send out in Surprise Trade on (and following) Christmas.

Does it bother anybody else that Togepi, who literally *wears* its own egg, still doesn’t get a unique egg texture in the mainline games?

I know Pokémon are sometimes types cause they can be but I think I know why dragapult is ghost, and that’s cause he’s based off of a B-2 stealth bomber.

What are the best and worst evolution methods?

I love the creativity of the trade evolutions and I get that the first generation was built on the theme of "exchanging" so it makes sense, but nowadays it seems more of a hassle than anything. Having to trade and trade back because you've become attached to your Kadabra seems redundant. Maybe a new spin on this would be to have any trade evolutions in your party evolve when you connect online with another player?

I think the evolution stones are a great way of weighing up increased stats vs. a diverse move-pool. Ninetales early is going to rock everyone's socks with Ember but only for so long before they fizzle out without a higher base power move.

Christmas 2000 was when I caught a Scyther in the Bug Catching Contest and a family friend who was in his teens convinced me to trade it to him. I wasn't convinced it was a good idea but I went along with it. He then traded it back but holding a Metal Coat and it blew my mind. My first introduction to the Steel type and to hold item evolutions.
