Topic: Mechanics from other games that could work with Pokémon!

For eight generations, Pokémon has stuck to their tried and true formula of RPG turn-based combat. However, let's shake it up a bit! There are unique systems from other franchises that might work with Pokémon, such as Final Fantasy's Active Time Battle system, or Nier: Automata's Real Time Combat, perhaps even grid based turn combat from the Xcom series! Battle mechanics aside, the Sword and Shield games gave us a taste of what an open world Pokémon game (similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) could be like, and I'm sure most of us would love to have that expanded upon.

Trainers, what feature or element from another game would you like to see in Pokémon?

Does anyone else wish they kept with the trend of releasing the mainline games on special cartridges? I made mockups of all the games gen IV and onward with their corresponding colour.
