I really don't feel like the hero in Pokemon Sword/Shield. Posted: 02 Feb 2020 04:08 AM PST This game is just confusing me on so many levels. The QoL changes and gameplay is great, the Wild Area is awesome, the sportsmanlike atmosphere of the gym challenge is great, and I really like the concepts for the characters (can't say I like the characters as they are since they don't feel fleshed out enough imo) but... I just don't feel like I am the hero. I am who, exactly? And I just showed up out of what feels like nowhere, barged in and declared myself Hop's best friend and guilted Leon into endorsing us both just cause I was there, stole Hop's dreams out from under him, wrecked Bede's home, pushed Sonia into becoming a researcher when she didn't seem like she really wanted to... I'm just... I feel like the bad person here! Anyone else get this feeling? I mean for god's sake, Hop just rolls over and lets us do whatever we want when he's around, all while being upset that he couldn't do what he wanted and his name is literally shortened "the common hop"............ named after a plant cause of his hairstyle. Then there's Leon, named after lions, majestic creatures of legend. This game's story is baffling to me. However, I still enjoyed the game so if you're here to just vent about SwSh this isn't the post, that's why it's not tagged venting. Pokemon models need to more accurately portray the textures of pokemon Posted: 01 Feb 2020 10:18 PM PST Pokemon models are lacking in regards to showing the textures of pokemon. There are some pokemon that I genuinely couldnt tell what they were supposed to be made of or covered with. So many of the models look like rubber or plastic and have no indication that the pokemon might have fur, scales, feathers, or whatever else. Sure, we can reasonably assume that a mammal has fur, a bird has feathers, and so on, but the models dont always indicate that. We're in the 2020s now.
